Our Religious Education classes at St. Alphonsus are for children in grades Pre-K (age 4 by August 1st) through 4th grade. Classes begin after Labor Day. Classes are 50 minutes long and meet in Weitzel Hall once a week throughout the school year.

The curriculum follows the weekly liturgical calendar which generates familiarity with the Gospel the children hear each week at Mass. Sacramental preparation is taught in first and second grades. Registration is required to place your child in a class. 

Our program relies on the generosity of time and talent of volunteer catechists. Each year, around 50 catechists are needed. Two catechists are assigned to each classroom with up to 15 children. Training and supplies are provided, and continued support is offered throughout the academic year.  Please prayerfully consider volunteering!
